About
Alexandra Howard’s love of design, interiors, and craftsmanship was born in Charleston, South Carolina, where she spent her early years. Subsequent training in New York at Parsons The New School for Design and in the studios of Celerie Kemble, Daniel Romualdez, and Mark Cunningham built upon this foundation. After immersing herself in Kemble’s Palm Beach style, Alexandra joined Romualdez’s traditionally-focused design firm where she collaborated with architects and craftsmen and selected furnishings from Sotheby’s and Christie’s for clients including Tory Burch, who was renovating her Southampton estate in New York and restoring Bunny Mellon’s former villa in Antigua. Under Cunningham’s “refined-Americana” aesthetic, she joined a team of designers engaged in shaping the architectural envelope by way of customized artisanal furnishings, layered accessories, and great attention to the finishing elements of each and every room. In 2017, she launched her eponymous design firm Alexandra Howard, Inc. in both Charleston and New York to create interiors possessing exquisite craftsmanship, distinctive character, and a seamless marriage of architecture and design.
